For sale..........80 Charity Xmas Wreaths

It's the start of the silly season here at Highway Farm. For Kirsty and Mum, who braved the journey and travelled from Andover through awful weather to Dorset, Christmas starts here with a wreath-making workshop at Highway Farm!
Kristie spurred me into action a couple months ago as I was humming, could I can conjure up the energy to run another xmas workshop?
I've spent 2 long days in the Barn with a wonderful group of people all supporting the idea of raising money for Breakthrough and their research into breast cancer, and the chance to be creative and make a mess, in our barn.
Stormy winds and wild rain outside but it was warm and friendly inside hopefully the mulled cider, hot soups and apple cake helped, and on such an atrocious day we were very delighted with the productive day we shared making beautiful Christmas wreaths, it was fun.

It was a real mixture, of ages, locals and from afar, ladies who had been before, and complete beginners, a couple hardy men with their wives who did exceptional wreaths, and a lovely family of 8 and 2 kiddies from Weymouth, on a day out together as a birthday treat, the young people all joining in and Dan showing great promise as a future florist!
We also had a large group from the local primary school on a staff outing away from educational pressures and responsibilities, happy to be taught! Much chatter and the teachers busy planning, wreath-making for their children amongst many others topics.

That a wreath-making face......Well done to George who complete his wreath on his own and in record time, great one George.
Ahead for Xmas......Clara you look great!

The idea was to make 2 wreaths, one wreath to take home and one you leave for me to sell for Charity. I've got 80 to sell!
Together we made 175 fresh hand-crafted wreaths from our gardens and hedgerow gatherings, colourful in design and naturally green and lush, take a look.

The Wreaths are £10 each and ready to collect.
We're raising funds for BREAKTHROUGH.
WELL DONE TO EVERYONE AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

A very big thank you to my valued and much loved helpers. Lin, Karen, Jane, Audrey who stayed to the very end on Sunday, and daughter Kate who made her first wreath!
The lovely grandchildren Dan and Hannah who were helpful with the broom and packing up of the tables, Hannah made her own wreath too, and along with Gramps helped with the big clear up.

All done now! Brill and thanks. xx

PS.  thanks to Valerie my neighbour for letting me raid her garden!
Merry Christmas and very best wishes for a Happy New Year.

Several inspiring ladies are running workshops in their villages soon, all for good causes.....and so it rumbles on.
Jackie and Brenda are making wreaths for the maintenance of the Millennium Green in Bath next weekend and Audrey is holding a very creative workshop in Southampton for an African charity, others are getting together with family or friends for mini wreath making workshops! I'm delighted.

From George's Mum............
Many thanks for a fantastic morning, we both thoroughly enjoyed it and are extremely pleased with the wreaths, everybody has been commenting and asking where they are from so I’ve been sending them your way! There is always such a fantastic buzz at your workshops. I was a bit sceptical about bringing George but I couldn’t come without him so thought I’d brave it, he was totally enthralled and hasn’t stopped telling everyone about it!
